I will be increasing the price of the double-sided acupuncture treatment (two rounds of needles) from $50 to $80, starting in June.
Life is just getting too expensive on too many fronts, and I don’t see prices coming down any time soon. I feel more comfortable raising the price for this service, because it is more work for me, it takes more of my time, and, for the cases in which I recommend it, I believe the patient will get better much more quickly.
I do find that the prices other acupuncturists are charging in the area are dismaying. One has to wonder how a person of average means is supposed to afford treatment for a complex condition that might require 10-12 sessions, if other acupuncturists are charging over $200 per session.
For this reason, I will still be offering single-sided acupuncture treatments for $50.
For patients who are concerned about the increase, some conditions that I previously treated using two rounds of needles can be treated with one round. For example, pain involving the front and back of the shoulders, left and right side, may be treatable in a sitting position with one round of needles, if no needles are needed in the lower part of the body.
For other conditions, please feel free to ask if I can treat that particular condition with one round of needles, or if the double-sided treatment is advisable. I am always happy to discuss, and I can always change the treatment plan to try to better suit your needs.
Thank you for your understanding in these difficult economic times.
